Tony Elischer

Tony Elischer is a familiar name to many Canadian fundraisers, and a name that is likely to bring a smile and invoke fond memories to those that knew him. As an international fundraising expert his work took him around the globe on his mission to inspire and educate fundraisers to become the best they can be, and in turn to learn and be inspired from the developments and innovations within the profession.

Canada, however, held a special place in his heart, and he visited consistently for over 20 years, being a key presence on the AFP Toronto Chapter Congress stage, as some of the videos below attest. He also worked closely with both Blakely and Stephen Thomas Ltd, and got to know many Canadian fundraisers on the ground, with many becoming close friends. Sadly, Tony passed away in 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer.

A key part of the reason why THINK Canada exists today is due to the commitment Tony had to the Canadian nonprofit sector, and our dedicated presence in Canada international work that adds to the continuing international work that THINK Consulting Solutions, based in the UK and of which Tony was a founder, continues to deliver.

For a full overview of Tony's life and work, please head over to the Tony Elischer Foundation, where you can find out more about him, and how the Foundation works to provide mentoring and leadership development for aspiring fundraising leaders around the world. Below we’ve set out a collection videos and articles that showcase the brilliance that was Tony.
